Tannin Clear is a taste-neutral tannin you can use in mash and wine without introducing an off-flavor of its own. It softens unripe, harsh tannins, takes bitter notes out of white, rosé and red wines, and gives the wine a little more body and structure.
In red wines it also supports color stabilization at the young stage. Dissolve the tannin in about 20 times the amount of hot water and stir the solution thoroughly into the wine. A preliminary trial is worthwhile, because the right amount depends on the wine's starting condition. For good results, the level of free sulfurous acid should be on the low side.
- Contents: 10 g taste-neutral tannin
- Suitable for: mash as well as white, rosé and red wine
- Dosage: young wine/mash about 1 to 3 g per 10 l, bottle-ready wine approx. 1 g per 10 l, preliminary trial recommended
- How to use: dissolve in hot water and stir in, dosage as per package instructions
- Brand: Joenos
Manufacturer information:
- Dissolve in 20 times the amount of hot water (60-80 degrees C)
- Optimal effect at free SO2 below 30 mg/l
- Minimum application time before bottling: 8 days
- Color stabilization through anthocyanin polymerization; aeration/micro-oxygenation improves the result
