The port pure culture wine yeast is intended for fermenting grape and fruit wines and is also suitable for fruit mashes and mead. It carries the batch through a clean fermentation and is a reliable choice for stronger batches.

This pack is sufficient for around 50 liters. As a dry yeast it stores well and is quickly ready to use. Before adding, let the yeast swell for about 20 minutes in ten times its volume of water at 35–40 °C and then add it to the prepared juice; starter and juice should be no more than 5 to 10 °C apart. The yeast comes from the Kitzinger range (Arauner, Kitzingen) and is part of the original remaining stock. Exact quantities and times are given in the instructions.
