Geko Original Blitz jar sealing liquid 20 ml – preserving drops for fruit

Original Blitz by Geko is a classic jar sealing liquid: an alcoholic solution with 8 % benzoic acid (preservative E 210). A few drops on the glass lid are lit, the flame uses up the oxygen in the jar and the lid holds fast – the jar is sealed within seconds, without a preserving pan. The colour, taste and freshness of the fruit are kept.

Use as stated by the manufacturer: after filling, clean and dry the rim of the jar well. Dip the rubber ring into hot water, rinse it in cold water and put it on wet. Put 5 drops on the inside of the lid, about 8 to 10 drops for a 1-litre jar, and light them at once. Put the lid with the burning liquid on and press it down. After a few seconds the flame has used up the oxygen and the jar is sealed.

A white deposit in the bottle comes from the preservative and dissolves again gradually. The liquid is flammable (alcohol): close the bottle again straight after use.
