This yeast nutrient salt consists of diammonium phosphate and supplies the yeast cells with nitrogen, which they need for a fast and complete fermentation. Added before fermentation, it supports yeast propagation and the conversion of sugar into alcohol.
It is particularly suitable for fruit wines and for mead. First dissolve the salt in a little juice or mash, then add it to the fermenting batch. The pack gives around 5 to 10 g per 10 litres of mash; we recommend 3 g per 10 litres (7.5 g per 25 litres), which is the upper limit of the German guidelines for wine-like drinks. For good results, combine it with a pure culture yeast. The single sachet should be used up after opening. Dosage as per the pack instructions.
